Churches Together in New Mills
The two Lent courses were quite well attended. The lunchtime course raised £50.00 for the work of U.S.P.G in Bangladesh. On Good Friday 150 hot cross buns were given out to passers by on Market Street, with explanatory leaflets, to mark the significance of the day for Christians.
(The buns were kindly donated by Potts bakers.)
The member churches have agreed to contribute to the cost of the 140 paperback copies of St Luke’s Gospel which I will distribute to 8 local Primary schools' Year 6 classes, for the New Mills Bible Society group.
Tuesday evenings from September 9 to October 7 will see each member church in turn open for an introductory talk about that denomination and church, called "Come and see", with the aim of interesting non-church goers as well.
The AGM will be on 14 October.
