Churches Together Lent Study Groups

Churches Together have organised two series of Lent groups this year. The title LENTWISE - spiritual essentials for real life. If our lives with God are a journey, the essentials we should not be without are:-

Compass - finding direction
Nourishment - keeping going
Light - gaining wisdom
Shelter - finding security
Water - enjoying and refreshment

These essentials form the topics for the five weeks of study course, which will be based on passages from John's gospels.

One series will be held on Monday lunchtimes in March (2,9,16,23,30th) from 12 - 2pm at St Mary's parish centre, St Mary's Road. Bring your lunch to share, tea and coffee provided. The groups will be lead by Brenda Mastin and Helen Taylor.

The second series will be held on Tuesday evenings in March (3,10,17,24,31st) from 7.30pm at Providence Church, Mellor Road. These will be lead by Rev Jane Barron.

See Helen Taylor for further details and there is a book to accompany the course if anyone wishes to buy one (£4.50).

The Lent courses have always been and excellent oppertunity to meet and to discuss in more depth our Christian journey through life.
