Flower Festival - ''For All Our Saints"

After last year’s Christmas Tree Festival, the PCC decided that this year we should have a change, and a Flower Festival fitted the bill. To have it in September at the same time as the New Mills Festival means that we can benefit from their publicity when hopefully the town will buzzing with visitors.

The theme “For all our Saints” came from the shields we havearound the gallery. They belong to various saints, some of them fairly local or associated with us in some way.

Take a look at out History Page for more facts about the Saints

Back to Church Sunday

9.30am Sung Eucharist

On Sunday, September 28th, each member of the congregation is asked to think of someone who used to come to our church and stopped coming, for whatever reason, and to invite them to come with them to the 9.30 a.m. Eucharist where they will receive a very warm welcome. Please consider this prayerfully. It may be that you are led to think of someone who has no connection to our church at all, or who has only been to a single service like a baptism, wedding, funeral or Remembrance Day

Service. The important thing is that you invite them personally and enthusiastically.

There will be no special gimmicks at the service that day, so when they come they will experience typical Sunday worship. It is how they are received and welcomed that will determine whether they want to keep coming.

This is a national initiative of the Anglican Church, but the other churches in New Mills are planning to hold “Back to Church” Sunday on that day too.

It will only work if members of our congregation invite someone along. Please do!
