  • HOLY BAPTISM is administered during the service on the 2nd Sunday of each month. To make arrangements please contact Rev John Baines at the vicarage or take a look at the Baptism link on this website.

  • HOLY MATRIMONY is arranged by personal interview with the Vicar. At least one party must reside in the Parish, or be on our Electoral Roll. Marriage preparation is by personal arrangement with the Vicar. Please see our Wedding link on this website.

  • CONFIRMATION INSTRUCTION for adults, or children aged 12 or over is by arrangement of the Vicar.

  • SICK VISITS OR ADVICE. The Vicar is happy to call at any time, day or night. Parishoners are asked to inform him of all cases of sickness. He will give Communion at home, the Laying-on-of-Hands for Healing, or Anointing, as invited.

  • THE PARISH CHURCHYARD is closed except for re-opening of existing graves for relatives or interment of cremated remains. New burials take place at Thornsett Cemetery. Undertakers will make initial enquiries - but do not hesitate to contact the Vicar if you need general advice. By order of the Parochial Church Council, a standard form of Tablet is used for Cremated Remains in the Garden of Rest, please note that railings placed around a Tablet ARE NOT PERMITTED. There are Rules governing the type and size of Head-stone permitted in the church-yard.

  • A BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE is kept open in Church. The names of all who have a Funeral Service in Church are entered, as are other names by personal request. There is no fee for this, but a voluntary donation of £3 is suggested, and is put towards Church maintenance.

  • A TEAM OF LAY PASTORAL VISITORS who have been commissioned by the Bishop of Derby assist the clergy in visiting the bereaved, the sick, and the troubled. All visits made are strictly confidential.

  • UP-TO-DATE NEWS is contained in our weekly sunday leaflet, which is free to all who are present at worship.

  • EXTERNAL and INTERNAL FINANCIAL COMMITMENTS are extremely heavy. Friends are invited to give money regulary by means of our WEEKLY ENVELOPE SCHEME and to review regulary their giving in order to keep pace with inflation. Those who pay Income Tax can increase the value of their giving at no extra cost to themselves, by using the new GIFT AID SCHEME. All advice in matters financial is in strict confidence.
