What is “Sunday School”? It is a group for children aged 3 to 11 who want to learn about God’s love. We follow the stories and readings from the Bible that the adults in church hear read out each week and use craft or drama to help bring these stories to life.
The aim is to provide children with a time and space in which they can explore Christianity and know that they are loved by God .
We have enjoyed seeing some new faces at Sunday School this term, both children’s and adult’s. We have a new rota of adult helpers and it was great to have Tom Spires on 11 October acting the part of the rich young man in the Gospel reading so enthusiastically! If you are reading this article and would be interested in helping once a term (three times a year) please speak to me for more details.
If you have a child, grandchild, or other relative you would like to attend, aged 3 to 11, then either contact me for further information (tel 745785) or bring them along on Sunday at 9.25 a.m. in the Parish Hall, Church Lane. We go across to church about 10.15 to join the rest of the congregation and for the adults to receive the Eucharist and the children a blessing. The service finishes about 10.45, when coffee is served in the Parish Hall.
Please note that November 8th is Remembrance Sunday this year and there will be no Sunday School. Nor on December 27th or January 3rd, resuming on January 10th.
